Our automated in-line Wheelabrator machine helps clean and surface-treat our material quickly and effectively to allow a paintable substrate.
This machine blasts steel shot or steel abrasive that is micro-sized at high velocity towards the top and bottom of the strip for cleaning, creating a better surface preparation for the painting process.
Steel shot blasting happens at the surface in a slingshot fashion using a wheel. As a result, it’s common to hear this process referred to as wheel-blasting. By doing this, the steel particles abrade the surface and help clean it for further finishing creating a better coating product.
